A steady best-seller and The Invisible String is reaching all over the World!
OVER 400,000 copies sold!
"That's impossible", said twins Jeremy & Liza after their Mom told them they're all connected by this thing called an Invisible String. "What kind of string"? They asked with a puzzled look to which Mom replied, "An Invisible String made of love." That's where the story begins. A story that teaches of the tie that really binds. The Invisible String reaches from heart to heart. Does everybody have an Invisible String? How far does it reach, anyway? Does it ever go away? Read all about it! THE INVISIBLE STRING is a very simple approach to overcoming the fear of loneliness or separation with an imaginative flair that children can easily identify with and remember. Here is a warm and delightful lesson teaching young and old that we aren't ever really alone and reminding children (and adults!) that when we are loved beyond anything we can imagine. "People who love each other are always connected by a very special String, made of love. Even though you can't see it with your eyes, you can feel it deep in your heart, and know that you are always connected to the ones you love."
Thus begins this heart-warming and reassuring story that addresses the issue of "separation anxiety" (otherwise known as the sense of existential 'aloneness') to children of all ages.
Specifically written to address children's fear of being apart from the ones they love, The Invisible String delivers a particularly compelling message in today's uncertain times that though we may be separated from the ones we care for, whether through anger, or distance or even death, love is the unending connection that binds us all, and, by extension, ultimately binds every person on the planet to everyone else. Parents and children everywhere who are looking for reassurance and reaffirmation of the transcendent power of love, to bind, connect and comfort us through those inevitable times when life challenges us!
Let's tell the whole world that we are ALL connected by Invisible Strings!

5. Creative Interventions for Bereaved Children
Feature
Used Book in Good ConditionDescription
When children enter therapy because they have experienced the death of a family member or close friend, they are at a very vulnerable time in their lives. They are often anxious about the therapeutic process and reluctant to talk directly about painful feelings. Activities that are creative and play-based can engage children and help them to express their thoughts and feelings. This book provides grief counselors with creative interventions to engage, assess, and treat bereaved children and families. A range of innovative activities are presented, including therapeutic games, art, puppets, role-plays, and stories. The first section of this book, which contains guidelines for practitioners, lays the foundation for effective grief counseling with children. Section Two presents a theoretical overview of childhood bereavement and it incorporates some of the latest literature on childhood bereavement. The third section provides material for use with caregivers, including a social history questionnaire to be used as part of the clinical assessment, and a reproducible handout to educate caregivers on the impact of grief on children. Section four offers a variety of engagement and assessment activities providing clinicians with strategies to build therapeutic rapport and assess bereaved children. Sections five through eight presents creative activities to help children express feelings of grief, diffuse traumatic reminders, address self-blame, commemorate the deceased, and learn coping strategies. Special sections have been included to assist children in dealing with specific kinds of loss, namely cancer, suicide, and homicide. In addition to activities for use in individual and family sessions, there is also a ten-week curriculum for use in support groups. The appendix includes a sample letter for the practitioner to give to the child upon termination from therapy, a treatment plan, and a handout on bereaved children to give to school personnel. The interventions in this book have been specially designed to engage children in counseling, and to help them approach their grief within the context of a safe therapeutic environment.6. Description
Do you know a child who has faced a deep loss, such as the death of a parent, sibling or grandparent? Are you looking for a way to help them sort out their thoughts and emotions? My Grief Journey: Coloring Book and Journal for Kids is for any age (including adult kids) who are learning how to live after the death of someone dearly loved and deeply missed.
It is different from all the other coloring books out there. Each coloring page has a word surrounded by beautiful artwork which is intentionally hand drawn. Each word has two pages to help the child think about and explore a specific word or emotion (such as helpless, fear, memories, hope, comfort, truth, thankful, etc.) through coloring, drawing and writing. The coloring page has a scroll with a prompt, to help them get started in thinking how they might feel about something. The prompt can be answered inside the scroll by either writing or drawing. We have also included an extra page for each word to allow more room for drawing or writing. On the page opposite the picture, you will find where award-winning author, Laura Diehl, shares her own thoughts, intertwined with what God has shown her about that word, along with a bible verse. Laura was an international children's minister and trainer for many years.
This book is a simplified version of My Grief Journey: Coloring Book and Journal for Grieving Parents, using twenty-nine of the forty-two words (and adding one word not in the adult book). This was done intentionally, so that a parent and child can do many of the pages together if there has been a sibling loss for the child.
